Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information — and the rights you have over it.

Last updated: June 8, 2026

This policy explains how ONO Advisory handles personal information collected through this website and in the course of providing advisory and coaching services. We are committed to handling your information responsibly and in accordance with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Who we are

ONO Advisory provides business advisory and financial coaching to owners and individuals in Calgary and across Alberta, delivered virtually. Our advisors are CPA-credentialed (CPA Alberta, in good standing), bringing professional analytical rigour to advisory and coaching work. ONO Advisory is not registered as a Professional Accounting Firm (PAF) or a Professional Services Provider (PSP). For the purposes of this policy, "we," "us," and "our" refer to ONO Advisory.

Information we collect

Information you provide to us

When you submit our contact form or otherwise reach out to us, we collect the information you choose to give us, which may include:

  • Your full name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number (optional)
  • The service you are interested in
  • The details of your situation and the help you are seeking
  • How you heard about us

Because the contact form invites you to describe your circumstances, the information you provide may include details about your personal or business finances. Please share only what you are comfortable providing at the inquiry stage — a detailed financial picture is not required to start a conversation.

Information collected automatically

Our website is hosted by Netlify. As with most web hosts, Netlify's servers may automatically log standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request, for the purposes of delivering the site, security, and abuse prevention. We do not use advertising or behavioural tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics on this site.

How we use your information

We use the personal information you provide only to:

  • Respond to your inquiry and communicate with you
  • Assess whether your needs are a good fit for our services
  • Prepare and administer an engagement, if you choose to proceed
  • Maintain records of our communications and engagements
  • Meet our professional, legal, and regulatory obligations

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Consent

By submitting the contact form or otherwise providing your information, you consent to our collecting, using, and disclosing that information as described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or professional record-keeping requirements, by contacting us using the details below. Withdrawing consent may limit our ability to respond to you or provide services.

How we share information

We share personal information only where necessary, and only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate — for example, Netlify (website hosting and contact-form delivery) and Google Fonts (which serves the site's typography and may receive your IP address as part of delivering font files). These providers process information on our behalf or under their own privacy terms.
  • Authorities or advisors where we are required or permitted to do so by law, by the CPA Alberta Rules of Professional Conduct, or to establish or defend our legal rights.

Some of these providers may store or process data on servers located outside Alberta or Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

Storage, retention, and security

Contact-form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and stored within our Netlify account. We restrict access to your information to those who need it to respond to you or deliver services. We retain personal information only for as long as needed to fulfil the purposes described above and to meet our professional and legal record-keeping obligations, after which it is securely deleted or anonymized. While we use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Under Alberta's PIPA and Canada's PIPEDA, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of information that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Withdraw your consent to our use of your information
  • Ask questions about how your information is handled

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta (oipc.ab.ca) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

Third-party links

Our website may contain links to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Children's privacy

Our services and website are directed to adults and to business owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
